Update on election results –  Laura Protheroe Bristol Unison Labour Link Officer

The election results were fantastic news for Labour in Bristol.  We now have a new Labour mayor Marvin Rees who won with 63% of the vote.
The webcast of the announcement is available.

Labour won 37 out of 70 council seats and now has a majority.  The webcast of the announcements are available.  We now have 17 new Labour councillors.  Full results can be found on council website.  However, we are sorry that some Labour councillors – Mike Wollacott, Eileen Means and Bill Payne lost their seats despite working extremely hard and putting a huge amount of effort into serving local people in their wards.

Sue Mountstephens was re-elected as Police and Crime Commissoner and Kerry Barker the Labour candidate came second.

More news will follow about Marvin Rees’s activities.
