Branch Education and Training

Working people have a long history of self-improvement through their trade unions. UNISON proudly continues this tradition with courses running throughout the year, covering campaigning, employment rights, and equalities, as well as functional skills, professional development and general skill-sharing!
Your branch can also run courses locally (if there’s enough interest), contact FAO Kath for more information or to get a copy of the courses available.
Unless you try to do something beyond what you have already mastered, you will never grow ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
UNISON learning understands that given the right tools and environment anyone can learn, we see our job as helping to remove any barriers in the way of you participating & to facilitate your learning rather than to lecture.
This means that UNISON courses are often a lot more practical and use participatory methods, it also means they can be hugely flexible when it comes to the varying needs of people attending.
If you have any concerns or questions about the running of a course, be it getting time off, finding childcare, needing a hearing loop or coloured paper, wanting support attending the course, or anything else we can help!
If you are interested in attending any UNISON training courses please view the events calendar, or  the course catalogues below for further information. Please complete the online booking form to register for a course.
